this is a salute to cat stevens who is known now as usuf islam! well i'm not saluting him because he is muslim but because he changed 180'' and now he just cares about children of the world and that what we really have to care about mulsims christians, jews, buddhists, krishnas,zulus,tootsiies,sikhs,.... here some songs written by cat(yusuf): Oh, they've killed all the Little Ones While their faces still smiled With their guns and their fury They erased their young lives No longer to laugh No longer to be a child Oh, they've killed all the Little Ones While their faces still smiled
Now they're burying the Little Ones And making their graves deep So the world cannot see That tonight we may sleep While they wash away the blood The mothers all weep Oh, they're burying the Little Ones And making their graves deep
Yet where will the devils go When that day comes? When the angels drag them out To face The Little Ones
Oh they killed all the Little Ones With their eyes open wide There was nothing to help them On the day that they died
No bed to run under No cupboard to hide Oh they've killed all the Little Ones With their eyes open wide
They'll be raising The Little Ones With no sin to atone In the light of high Heaven They will sit on tall thrones Where playtime lasts forever And God's Mercy never ends They'll be raising the Little Ones And they'll all be best friends They'll be raising the Little Ones And they'll all be best friends
and here is another song by him: He was a guide for all people And the mercy to the universe He was a guide for all people God's peace and blessings on him
He was a seal of the prophet (The last breaking the house of prophethood) The last brick in the house of prophethood He was the last of the prophets God's peace and blessings on him
He was a patron of the poor Always helping widows and orphans A great patron of the poor God's peace and blessings on him
He was a striver against evil And he fought and he won To give rights all people God's peace and blessings on him
He was a stranger to this world For his aim was the hereafter He kept little for this world God's peace and blessings on him

O you who were raised amongst us coming with a work to be obeyed You have brought to this city nobleness Welcome! best call to God's way

He is a follower of that dirty lying disciple of Satan and denies that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.

I feel sorry for him, honestly, he was deceived while he was rather sick and therefore vulnerable. I actually like some of his pre-Islamic songs, like "Year of the Cat" and "Peace Train", but his conversion to Islam was unfortunate and misguided.

I like his old stuff too. Wasn't 'Year of the Cat' Al Stewart though ??

He probably smoked too much of the green weed or maybe chewed too much qat (united should know what that is). Demetri

Yeah, Year of the Cat was Al Stewart. I used to like Cat Stevens' old stuff, too. He did a beautiful rendition of that old Anglican hymn, Morning Has Broken. Too bad he went gufi.

I always liked that song of his his, I listened to the wind, to the wind of my soul. Maybe he'll have a chance to recant before the end and reembrace Christ.

I am sorry but all I can say to this is....Tom don't be a jerk!!! My God, what is your problem, Tom? I am sorry but this is the FREE-FOR-ALL board, and United's post was not promoting Islam or attacking Christainity. So where is the offense? He isn't trying to convert anybody, he isn't being agressive about anything. And my God how proud can you be to curse someone as a disiciple of Satan?! To bad mouth people in such a way?! It is most certainly sad that people deny Christ and lead people astray, but calling them diciples of Satan is a little much. Be nice! You aren't a moderator...relax!

Really? Well, I could be wrong, but who do you think the last "song" refers to? Who do you think the line "he was the last prophet" is referring to? John the Baptist? and here is another song by him:
He was a guide for all people And the mercy to the universe He was a guide for all people God's peace and blessings on him
He was a seal of the prophet (The last breaking the house of prophethood) The last brick in the house of prophethood He was the last of the prophets God's peace and blessings on him

Maybe you are confused, I was referring to Mohammed as a disciple of satan, not Cat Stevens. So that we are clear -- Are you saying that Mohammed was NOT a "disciple of Satan"? 'Cause there certainly is no question in my mind that he was. You aren't a moderator...relax!
That's true. But everyone needs a little help now and then.

While our good friend Tom may have said what I was thinking a little more strongly that I would have put it, he's right on.
I also note that a lyric from that song reads "He was a seal of the prophet". That is blatantly referring to Mohammed.

I agree completely. Ben: He isn't trying to convert anybody, he isn't being agressive about anything. Sure he is. IMHO united came here to promote Islam and has done nothing but since his arrival. It's disgusting. Ben: And my God how proud can you be to curse someone as a disiciple of Satan?! To bad mouth people in such a way?! It is most certainly sad that people deny Christ and lead people astray, but calling them diciples of Satan is a little much. What are Muslims but disciples of Satan? How is saying that "a little much?"

...Tom may have said what I was thinking a little more strongly that I would have put it... Yes. I do tend to write pretty straightforward, and to be truthfull, that HAS caused me some problems on this board. I am much better face to face. I really am not as bad as I sound. At least I hope not!

Hey United, do you share in Cat Stevens' support for Ayatollah Khomeini's murder decree against author Salman Rushdie? It's too bad that while he supposedly cares about the Children of the world, he supports murder of certain adults whom he disagrees with.

I am sorry but this is a free for all board, and despite the lyrics....United was not agressive and wasn't try to convert anyone. I think your response was harsh. Gezz Tom between this, your grossly ignornant view of Papal Infallibilty, and your beliefs about Mary, and tradition and Tradition, I really am worried about GOA.
