Fr. Seraphim Scheidler was a Russian Orthodox priest who was of ill health for the past little while. He would serve in our church when his health would let him. Not too long ago he went through a surgery (I can't remember what for) but he made a full recovery. I saw him yesterday after the Liturgy during my church's coffee hour and he thanked me for serving my country (I was in uniform as I had to go to a funeral later that day). I thanked him and he blessed me, then he thanked me again. Today he just collapsed in his home and attempts were made to resuscitate him, but to no avail. Although I only knew him for a brief moment, the kindness in his eyes touched my soul deeply.
Please pray for his family during these hard times.
