A Ukrainian Orthodox Church will be the first chapel to be built in Antarctica. Construction will take place this spring.

From the article:
Quote
"When we send polar explorers to the South Pole we don't ask about their confession. But every person can have a wish to stay alone, to pray. Why don't we build a church?" Director of the National Antarctic Scientific Center Valery Litvinov was quoted as saying on Friday by the Ukrainian Segodnya.ua website.

Not sure what this article wants to say.  There has been an Orthodox church in Antarctica since 2005

Confusing, the OP describes it as the first -- "A Ukrainian Orthodox Church will be the first chapel to be built in Antarctica."

These Churches are not actually on the continent of Antarctica, but on King George Island.
