Any Bulgarians or other Eastern Europeans here ever hear of Peter Deunov?

Yep. Every August I believe there is a 'pilgrimage' of his followers to the Seven Lakes in the Rila mountains.

Do his followers have good relations with the Orthodox Church in Bulgaria?

Sounds kind of like Rudolf Steiner.

Steiner's writings are impenetrable.

I don't think they have any relations.

I guess he was baptised in the Orthodox Church, his father was an Orthodox priest, but he dissociated himself from Orthodoxy. In 1888 he went to the USA to study in the Drew United Methodist Church Seminary, New Jersey, which he graduated in 1892. When he came back to Bulgaria in 1895, he refused a proposed position as a Methodist preacher. So he left Christianity and started his religious movement.

Looked around the site a bit, good for some lulz. I love lines like this: "When a woman cooks she should sing, then the food would be much more wholesome and tasty." It sort of reminds me of that bit Alton Brown did on Good Eats about the kooky 19th century inventor of the graham cracker, Rev. Sylvester Graham.
