O Holy Saint Grand Duchess Elizabeth, pray for us!

« on: January 06, 2011, 03:50:30 AM »

Please pray for my friend. I have known him for almost a year, and he is an atheist. He does not believe in any sort of God and takes our Lord's name in vain constantly.

Lord, have mercy on his soul!

Lord, have mercy! +

It may be a phase. Unfortunately, we never know. My daughter (26) and her husband (30) are very passionate, actively outspoken atheists, and I am always trying to convince myself that it's a phase, it will pass, but, in all honesty, I am not sure. My son-in-law's grandfather is over 80 already, and he still is a militant atheist... We can always pray though.

Excellence of character, then, is a state concerned with choice, lying in a mean relative to us, this being determined by reason and in the way in which the man of practical wisdom would determine it. Now it is a mean between two vices, that which depends on excess and that which depends on defect.
