A dear friend
« on: January 03, 2011, 10:10:08 PM »
My best friend is in a exceedingly bad situation. I want to help her and her 4 children to get out of it. They would ideally like to move up here. She is currently more than 2,000 miles from me. In fuel alone it would cost somewhere close to $900, and I am not sure that our car could even make it without some work first. We have DFAS and AER breathing down our necks for some debts that are not our fault and we are still waiting on VA disability status. Please pray that my friend will make wise decisions and stay safe. And if you could pray for a quick and positive resolution to the DFAS, AER and VA issues that would be great too. If those three things were taken care of I could run down and get her in about 2 weeks.

Past posts reflect stages of my life before my baptism and may not be accurate expositions of Orthodox teaching. Also, I served as an Orthodox priest from 2008-2013, before resigning.

Lord, have mercy!
"O Cross of Christ, all-holy, thrice-blessed, and life-giving, instrument of the mystical rites of Zion, the holy Altar for the service of our Great Archpriest, the blessing - the weapon - the strength of priests, our pride, our consolation, the light in our hearts, our mind, and our steps"
Met. Meletios of Nikopolis & Preveza, from his ordination.

Lord, have mercy!
Conquer evil men by your gentle kindness, and make zealous men wonder at your goodness. Put the lover of legality to shame by your compassion. With the afflicted be afflicted in mind. Love all men, but keep distant from all men.

Lord, have mercy.
He will come again with glory to judge the living and the dead. His kingdom will have no end.
