How can you allow all of the suffering on this planet to go on without intervening (ie a child dying of starvation every five seconds, plagues, natural disasters, AIDS, child pornography, human exploitation and slavery, malaria, diabetes, etc etc etc)?

how can we appreciate the gift offered to us if we have no frame of reference for the opposite? simply telling us is not enough for mortal man, we need to see and feel to understand.

I don't think that you would need to ask that question as St. Paul has already given us the answer in 1 Corinthians 13, verse 12:  "For now we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known."

Great reply!  But, as you can see, the Devil's influence is still strong; even among us Christians.  Lord, have mercy!

Ditto for me as well!

With an additional question; you exist, so why all the subterfuge to make it look like you don't?

That's easy, he humbled Himself so that we could be free and choose His love freely.

I would like to change my question. My new one is: Dear God, why did you create a serpent that talks? Didn't you know what would happen?  Cool
