Hey all,
If you would, please pray that God would send me a wife. I have to say, it's difficult finding an Orthodox spouse here in the U.S. Orthodoxy is still in the minority here. Even so, I go to a big church myself, as in we have hundreds in church on a Sunday. But that doesn't help. Anymore it seems like all the Orthodox women I know are too young or too old. I'm 27, and most of the women around my age are married already. And even if they're not, more often than not, they are nominal Orthodox, the kind that don't practice their faith to any significant degree in their daily life. I'm beginning to think it's almost impossible to find a pious Orthodox spouse. Anyway, please say a prayer for me, and the other single Orthodox people out there going through the same thing. Thanks.

I was in the same situation 2 years ago. I was 24 and could not find a Christian Orthodox man who wanted to marry and have children( and I live in Romania which has 86% Christian Orthodox population  ) I was upset because you might know that Elder Paisios of The Holy Mountain said that it is for the best for women to marry before the age of 25 and men before 30. I talked to the priest I went to confession to, who has been knowing me for years. Some time later he presented me a young man. 6 months later we got married, we have a baby boy now and things are ok. Why don't you talk to your priest? Have faith! |
