no time to post things now. My patron saint is Constantine the great. But I hate this name to be honest. I would rather be named Jordan instead.

An American pop culture reference that's 20 years dated. Not a reference to you...Probably. But maybe. You're a pretty cool guy.

Blessed Nazarius practiced the ascetic life. His clothes were tattered. He wore his shoes without removing them for six years.

St Genevieve, pictured in my avatar.
I grew up non-Orthodox, and I always wondered why my mother didn't give me the family name of Kathryn Genevieve, but instead Kathryn Amanda. When I was in my teens, I was watching the old musical of Camelot where Guinevere is praying to St Genevieve and I was like, "Whoah, there's a St Genevieve?". I looked her up, and her feast day is on my birthday. It felt like it was "meant to be".

St Winifred of Wales is the saint who I chose for my daughter.
My husband chose St Longinus, because he said that at one point (even fairly recently) in his life, it would have taken a miracle like Christ's blood falling on his eyes to remove his proverbial blindness to God and to faith.

Gonna bump this up!

Atm, my Patron is St Paul the Simple, a Dessert Father and Disciple of St Anthony the Great.

However, when I am eventually Chrismated, I may decide to take on a new name of a Saint from the British Isles.

My favourite contenders are:

St Alban, Proto-Martyr of England

St Chad of Mercia or St Chad of Lichfield

St Aidan of Lindesfarne

St Piran of Cornwall

I love all of these Saints

I was baptized Ioan (Romanian version of John) as infant. It means "Yaweh is merciful" and is definitely something I stand for. Most people think of St. John The Baptist as my patron saint. I have him and St. John The Theologian whose theology I identify with, though, as my patron saints primarily. And all saints named John equally.

The patron saint of my family, according to the serbian tradition of "Slava" is Elias the prophet. --> http://kirilzlatanov.webs.com/photos/Ikoni/sv.Ilija.jpg

The patron saint personally have always been Saint John the Theologian, whose name I carry. Always loved his character of love and humility. Also the first gospel I opened as an atheist.

My Patron Saint is St. Elizabeth, the mother of St. John the Forerunnerm and aunt to the Theotokos.  I love her humility, patience, hope and perseverance.

As a little girl, I always told everyone that if I had a son, I would have named him John.  Smiley

I also really like St. Brigid, since I am Irish on my father's side. I might pick her. Who will win, St. Brigid or St. Moses?  laugh
