How shall I not weep when I think of death? For I have seen my brother in his coffin, without glory or comeliness. What, then, do I expect? And what do I hope for? Only grant me, O Lord, repentance before the end.

i love saint moses and saint antony
 Smiley

i also love saint tomas:

he was a hermit who prayed a lot and fasted and learnt humility. God blessed him with the gift of prophecy and other spiritual gifts.

By my name st. Dominica, deaconess (the 8th of January)

And my Slava - st. apostle and evangelist Luke (family patron that I received through my father - ages ago one of my Serbian ancestors was baptised on the day of st. Luke and probably he was given this name)

no time to post things now. My patron saint is Constantine the great. But I hate this name to be honest. I would rather be named Jordan instead.

An American pop culture reference that's 20 years dated. Not a reference to you...Probably. But maybe. You're a pretty cool guy.

Blessed Nazarius practiced the ascetic life. His clothes were tattered. He wore his shoes without removing them for six years.

St Genevieve, pictured in my avatar.
I grew up non-Orthodox, and I always wondered why my mother didn't give me the family name of Kathryn Genevieve, but instead Kathryn Amanda. When I was in my teens, I was watching the old musical of Camelot where Guinevere is praying to St Genevieve and I was like, "Whoah, there's a St Genevieve?". I looked her up, and her feast day is on my birthday. It felt like it was "meant to be".

St Winifred of Wales is the saint who I chose for my daughter.
My husband chose St Longinus, because he said that at one point (even fairly recently) in his life, it would have taken a miracle like Christ's blood falling on his eyes to remove his proverbial blindness to God and to faith.
