Did not see anything....this whole situation in Ukraine seems to be getting worse, not better. The politics and religion are so intertwined there, it seems in general UOC-MP and the athiests seem to be backers of pro-russian relations and President Yanukovych and the UOC-KP, UAOC, and Ukrainian Greek Catholics seem to be more pro-west, anti-Russian supporters.
Just to clarify, Yanukovych is an adamant supporter of UOC-MP. As for atheists - no I doubt that many of them in Ukraine support UOC-MP. AFAIK, they are on the most part just laughing at all this thing, saying, "see - they, these idiot "Orthodox," are at each other's throats, what hypocrites..."
Inside UOC-MP, there seems to be a small group of clerics who are very strongly against the "Political Orthodoxy Kremlin-Style." They write in their blogs and live journals and on FB and on a number of Ukrainian Internet fora, focusing at a thorough criticism of patr. +KIRILL's idea (or, more accurately, the Kremlin's idea voiced by patr. +KIRILL) that Russians, Ukrainians, and Belarussians ought to be united in what is called "the Russian World" under the spiritual leadership of Moscow.
Essentially, everybody in Ukraine who has brains and dignity is very strongly against the "Russian World" and, generally, against ROC. Unfortunately, "everybody who has brains and dignity" do not constitute an overwhelming majority anywhere in the world, including Ukraine...
I can not see a positive outcome in the church situation as Moscow will never allow an independent Ukrainian church and it seems that the EP does not want to upset the MP by recognizing a Cannonical Independent Ukrainian Church.
Well, EP must get money from somewhere, and patr. +KIRILL is very willing to pay, having a complete green light from the Kremlin for this purpose. Russia has colossal oil and gas revenues, so they pay, and HAH exists... Certainly he would never upset those who make his mere life possible...
