I am not married and I would long to have a wife someday, is this a bad prayer request?

Many people ask for the intercessions of St. Xenia of St. Petersburg in such matters.  Ask her for her help!

Lord have mercy and help you to find a beautiful lady Smiley

Not a bad request at all. You are in my unworthy prayers, Dnarmist.

Greetings in that Divine and Most Precious Name of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!

Marriage is a Sacrament.  Like Baptism or Holy Communion, we don't necessarily chose or decide, rather we accept and embrace God's invitation.  Marriage like Ordination is a sacred vocation, couples are called by God into the Marriage relationship.

That being said, WE ALL need to pray for marriage and those who are married already pray a thanksgiving prayer that God put y'all together.

Human beings are not perfect, but God's Marriage in the Church is, and through Grace we gradually readjust to His perfection, but it is His gift, not of ourselves, so we must pray for His mercy and will.

ps.. add me to the list (I already had my fun as a young man, I've learned my spiritual lessons and am ready to settle down too) Wink

stay blessed,

Habte, same boat.  I will pray to St. Xenia and the Theotokos for you and you do the same for me!   Wink

It is an education process for me as I learn about the psychology of spiritual apostasy. And others get the benefit of perhaps hearing righteousness for the first time.

So is this turning into a general spouse request thread? I want to find a spouse at some point.
