Dialects of Old Slavonic
« on: April 07, 2004, 11:42:29 PM »
I've read that the original Old Slavonic language was based on South Slavic dialects, but over time developed various forms in different countries, with the Russian form eventually becoming dominant.  Does anyone know more about this?

Much, much can be said about this.  Try looking at "The Dawn of Slavic" by Schenker.  We used that in my grad OCS class.
