Hello,
I am new to this board.
I was baptised at the age of 6 (Still remember), into a Weslyian style church in Australia called 'The Uniting Church'.
My parents left there probably 2 years later? They just fell away from Church.
They placed me in Catholic school from 3rd year onwards. Sat through many Masses as a non-Catholic.
I've had a very hard time growing up and probably from age 11 I started with major depression. It's then that I seriously turned to God and Prayer. Although I had no one to guide me. (Or who I felt I could trust)
About age 15-16 I gave up all hope and fell away altogether.
Something has been drawing me to Jesus since 2007. It's only recently I've felt drawn to the Eastern orthodox Church.
I would like to learn more here on this forum, and I am looking to approach a nearby Church soon.

Welcome David. The Lord has blessed you; you're in the right place. As soon as you feel comfortable, get yourself into church and establish a relationship with the priest. Visit more than one church, if necessary. No one will pressure you. Just introduce yourself and try to attend regularly. Orthodox church services will give you an opportunity to praise, thank and receive mercy from the Lord, so they are very healing. (At least, that's been my experience.) The rest will take care of itself.

Welcome David. My son started inquiring into Orthodoxy at the age of 9. By 11 he wanted to convert and ended up converting our entire family. He married a lovely red-haired Greek gal whom he met at age 12. They had a long courtship under the watchful eyes of his Greek in-laws. It was love at first sight.
