The UN's program on HIV and AIDS released statistics which indicate that the global rate of new infections of HIV has slowed to a halt. However, social stigmatization and other issues are still factors in the lives of patients.

"Investments in the Aids response are paying off, but gains are fragile - the challenge now is how we can all work to accelerate progress."
