How can we change the world?  It's nothing new, but people can sometimes scorn it as belief in a new elaborate initiative is more applealing to the spirit of the times.  It is much more difficult to put into practice than bearing signs at protests or donating a few bucks to an organization, as it requires each of us to let go our own soul destroying deeds.  Simply, You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your strength, and with all your mind; and your neighbor as yourself.

Since the fall of mankind, and the control of the World has been transferred to Satan. The Lord himself acknowledged this fact by referring to the Evil One as Prince or Master of this World. As such, we should never expect peace or that the trials from the world and prosecution will ever end.

marx, lenin, the 1960's utopians, Jim Jones (of the mass suicides in South America fame in the late 1970's), and countless others have tried to make this world "heaven."  See Stavro's comment above!

Christos Anesti!  Christ is Risen

We can change the world...

by becoming Holy ourselves. Anything else is an exercise in futility.

There are two kinds of people in this world: those who divide people into two kinds and those who don't.

If everyone would change his or her underwear on a regular basis, the world would be a nicer place.

Once we've all done that, we can move on to oral hygiene.

How do we change the world?  We can't change all of it at once.  We change ourselves so that we *don't* give into being greedy or lustful or hateful.  So that we remember the poor, even ones in far away countries who we'll never meet, but are being used as slave labour to make clothing or other items for us and try to do any small thing for fair treatment and wages.  We remember that people who aren't like us are Human too and made in the image of God.  It's the work on our part and the little bit that we *can* do that might change something.  And that takes a lot of time, not the day or two of a protest or the check to a PAC.  Work, that's what it'll take.

Each day try to do something nice for your neighbor or whomever you come into contact with.  Its amazing how good it feels.  You never know how this impacts some one who is not used to getting this treatment.
