distractions during prayer
« on: November 23, 2010, 01:41:56 AM »
what's the best thing to do when you are distracted during prayer?  when I say my evening prayers, my feet and legs get so itchy, it's hard not to scratch them.  this never happens except at prayer.  a few times, I will also feel sick to my stomach, and will need to stop praying for a few.

I wouldn't go so far as to say it's the devil.

does this happen to y'all?  what do you do when this happens?
"At the Last Judgment I will not be asked whether I satisfactorily practiced asceticism, nor how many bows I have made before the divine altar. I will be asked whether I fed the hungry, clothed the naked, visited the sick, and the prisoner in his jail. That is all I will be asked." - Sv. Maria Skobotsova
