Depends on the beer, but to give one example a 12 oz. bottle of Gulden Draak or Piraat would be about $3.75 US. So a four pack comes in around $14-15 US. Pennsylvania taxes being part of that, which are really high for alcohol. Things are a little better in New Jersey, I just hate driving over there. |

No..no...no.... EVEN worse is the American Budweiser which has NOTHING to do with real Budweiser as brewed near Plsen in České Budějovice, Czech Republic! I know this to be true because my cousin, several times removed, said so and he is the Greek Catholic priest in Plsen for the Rusyn/Slovaks who live in that region. |

I did that too, last year. I especially miss the lambics! I've found that you can get most of the main Trappist ales in America (though at a premium). But the varieties of lambics are much less available. In most places all that is available is Lindeman's Framboise or some of its other varieties, which are not really proper lambics. The one Trappist ale I am dying to try is from the famously uncommercial Westvleteren Brewery: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Westvleteren_BreweryI shall have to make a religious/beer pilgrimage to the monastery next time I'm in Belgium. |
