There's been a lot of talk on here about who exactly is the Catholic Church™, so we need a poll to settle the matter in a definitive way.

What say you? Which Church is the Truest?

I'll start things off by voting Greek Orthodox.

No options for Anglican Branch Theory and or the generic Protestant Invisible Church?

I forgot about those until after the poll was posted. Perhaps Schultz can go in and add those options.

Such a poll seems quite pointless on a forum that is predominantly Eastern Orthodox. We already know which answer will be the "winner."

Well the RCC is in a strong second right now. Bring some RC friends over to the forum and you might be the winners! Remember, this poll settles the matter, so the stakes are pretty high.

The Oriental Orthodox aren't getting much support. Perhaps I should have put this in a more visible place that they visit more?

I was going to vote "Miscellaneous Super Traditionalist Breakaway Group," but I just couldn't do it. Now if you had a Miscellaneous Super Duper Traditionalist Breakaway Group, that'd be a different story. But do you realise that the traditional group you have listed advocates using icons of the Theotokos in which her arm is as much as 3 degrees off? Blasphemy!

Greetings in that Divine and Most Precious Name of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!

Well, you know, the See of Alexandria has generally been considered the longest continuous Patriarchate, and the Tewahedo Church is the first official Church of any kingdom on earth under Emperor Ezana, and of course the Greek Orthodox have their ancient monasteries, and the Syrians always the underdog have been a wealth of Christianity around the Oriental Orthodox world, but all history aside, sectarianism and cultural cheuvenism is dangerous to unification of the One, Holy, Catholic, Apostolic Church.  We are all brothers and sisters, we are all body parts in this Body of Christ.  The feet do not vaunt over the hands, neither do the ears envy the eyes, nor does the arm try to subvert the shoulder, but ALL these body parts with their various histories, functions and flavors, cooperate together, jointly, unified, towards the goal of Life in and Homeostasis in the Body.

Let us forget these kinds of discussions and competitions, and embrace the unity of our Church, and search more so for its oneness than for its distinctions.  After all,

Quote
But among you it will be different. Whoever wants to be a leader among you must be your servant.
NIV Matthew 20:26

Suppose I'm one of those modern-day heretical ecumenicists who believes that the Eastern and Oriental Orthodox are the True Church. Oh noes, however should I vote?

Well, to clarify, I happen to think that the One True Church is mainly the Greek Orthodox, but I also think that it is the Marionite Catholics and the Assyrian Church of the East which switched to the Gregorian calendar. All others are outside. Sorry Oriental Orthodox and Latin Catholics and all others, you didn't make the cut. Fortunately, my opinion will change to whatever the outcome of this poll is.

Why would you pick the ACE over the OO?

Just the ones on the Gregorian. The ones that kept their old calendar are heretics.

Where are all of my Miscellaneous Super-Traditionalists at?

Add the words "chakra," "Sufi," and "shamanism" in there and you have a winner.
