The Herald Sun of Australia reports that the wedding between the supermodel and the real estate tycoon will take place at Luxor in Egypt. The couple met at the Cannes Film Festival in 2008.

"The ceremony will be held at the Temple of Luxor ... that is dedicated to the God of Sun, Amun, from Egyptian mythology." Nothing un-Orthodox about that.

Hope it works out better than the Russian connection for Mel Gibson.
I've been to Luxor. It's not in Russia. What gives?

Hmm, didn't Naomi verbally and physically assault a couple of people in two separate incidents? Good luck, Vlad.

Well, I doubt she'll make it through the rigorous three-year catechumenate. Oh, wait...

The ceremony will be held at the Temple of Luxor - located on the Nile River in the North African nation - that is dedicated to the God of Sun, Amun, from Egyptian mythology. That's rather random of them.

Good question. She doesn't have to convert to Holy Orthodoxy if she and Vlad are getting hitched in a pagan temple, does she?

I think the rules for weddings during Nativity fast are very different for the local churches. For example, in the Bulgarian Patriarchate weddings are not allowed from the beginning of the fast until 20 November, then from 21 November (Presentation of the Theotokos) until 19 December they are allowed, and from 20 December until 6 January (Theophany) they are not allowed again.

If you want to make typical Slavic baptismal party also it is banned on Fasts. If not - IMO in any time.
