I am interested in a discussion about the distinction in the concepts of God's energies vs. God's grace.  I realize that Orthodox theology emphasizes that God's grace is uncreated. So, how does the uncreated energies of God differ from the concept of the uncreated grace of God?

I was always under the impression that they were the same? I'm sure I'm oversimplifying it.

Same here. I believe God's grace is considered a form of His energeia.

I  am under the impression that you are not. Grace is the reception of His energies.

Question a friend, perhaps he did not do it; but if he did anything so that he may do it no more.
A hasty quarrel kindles fire,
and urgent strife sheds blood.
If you blow on a spark, it will glow;
if you spit on it, it will be put out;
                           and both come out of your mouth

This is what I assumed. However, the later byzantine emphasis on essence/energy distinction led me to believe that there might be more to this theology apart from the traditional understanding of grace.
