I feel a bit silly asking for prayers for this, but the more I dwell on it, the more nervous and anxious I get.
I am flying to Germany for spring break tomorrow evening. I have only been on a trans-atlantic flight two other times before. The first was 2 years ago: as the plane descended into London, something happened to my eye...it felt like it was about to explode. This is not meant to be funny, although I always laugh about it to try to lighten my anxiety over it. It started as a pinpoint migraine as we began descent, right behind my eye, and the lower we got, the more pressurized the pinpoint became, until I could barely breathe. I was gasping and crying hysterically, and everyone around me was calm as ever, attempting to help me however they could. It was the worst pain I've ever been in, I think.
Since then, it hasn't happened to that extent, but I always feel it mildly each time we descend from the high altitude, so when I feel it coming on I frantically pray and chew gum and put my depressurizing ear plugs in. My fear of this doesn't keep me from flying, but I am so scared of that happening again...any prayers anyone can spare for me tomorrow night, and then Saturday the 20th when I return, would be greatly appreciated.

My Catholic Center here at NYU hosted German Catholic students last Fall for 10 days, so they are returning the favor. Augsberg is a suburb of Munich, so that's the city where I'll be hanging out most. I don't intend on drinking beer. It is lent after all. Plus, I don't like beer. Hi from Germany! Quick note of thanks, and to let you all know that I survived. I'm beginning to think that was just one really bad pilot who descended too quickly. Every other time I've been fine. Thank you all for your prayers though!!!
