For my wife and family
« on: October 14, 2010, 04:07:42 PM »
So... We just found out today that my wife has 96 cysts in her pelvic area... She has a cyst the size of a softball on her left ovary and one the size of a golf ball on her right ovary. At any time one of these cysts could rupture and cause internal bleed and possibly death. We also found out why she has been going to the bathroom so much since she gave birth and that is because she has a cyst on her bladder and no more room in her pelvic area to accommodate everything. The cyst take up so much room that my wife's stomach bulges out, she thought it was just fat and has done everything she can to lose weight and nothing worked - sow we know why.The doctors will have to do a partial hysterectomy to remove the cysts, which will remove 10-20 pounds from my wife's body. We probably wont be able to have any more children.

Also we found out today that my wife has HPV and had an irregular pap smear to top everything off.

Please pray for my family, but especially my wife, Roseanna (not misspelled), as she is taking this very hard.

Lord, have mercy.

Lord have mercy and heal Your handmaiden Roseanna from all that ails her.

Amen.
Conquer evil men by your gentle kindness, and make zealous men wonder at your goodness. Put the lover of legality to shame by your compassion. With the afflicted be afflicted in mind. Love all men, but keep distant from all men.

Lord, have mercy.
"If you are going to serve the Lord, be prepared for times when you will be put to the test. Be sincere and determined. Keep calm when trouble comes. Stay with the Lord; never abandon Him and you will be prosperous at the end of your days. Accept whatever happens to you. Even if you suffer humiliation, be patient. Gold is tested by fire and human character is tested in the furnace of humiliation. Trust the Lord and He will help you. Walk straight in His ways and put your hope in Him. " Sir 2:1-6

Lord have mercy!
Many Energies, 3 Persons, 2 Natures, 1 God, 1 Church, 1 Baptism, and 1 Cup. The Son begotten only from the Father, the Spirit proceeding only from the Father, Each glorifying the Other. The Son sends the Spirit, the Spirit Reveals the Son, the Father is seen in the Son. The Spirit spoke through the Prophets and Fathers and does so even today.

“Universe,” “love,” “eternity,” “brotherhood,” “peace,” “life,” “justice,” “truth,” “God”… These are big words. Very big words. But not nearly big enough. They can’t be defined; they can only be lived.

Not much has changed, although we do know that she has cervical cancer. We both are praying and waiting. I believe that we are waiting for her blood test results to get back so our insurance will cover any surgery that needs to be done. I say believe because I am @ Ft. Gordon training for a new job in the Army for the next five weeks and when Roseanna and I do talk we don't discuss this part of life.

Good news is that my wife has decided to become Orthodox and has even started to do some of the daily prayers. I think she is also going to meet with my (our?) priest some time soon. Also, she has been kind of adamant about not having our daughter chrismated until she is old enough to make her own decisions (Ryvre is only 20 months old), but a few days ago Roseanna bought a chrismation dress for our daughter.

Glory to God for her change of heart regarding Orthodoxy!

Through the prayers of the Theotokos and Saint Nectarios, may your wife be healed of her illnesses!

As a side note, you may find this Akathist to the Theotokos helpful.
"For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope." Jer 29:11
