The Russian Orthodox Church on Monday
opened its own official channel on the YouTube Internet video site. The announcement was made at Christ the Saviour Cathedral, in Moscow, at the fourth annual festival of Orthodox Christian media, called Faith and Word.
Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia gave his blessing to the channel and said that the purpose of the endeavor was to "make the word of God, divine wisdom and the law of God, which is the law of life, closer to the life of the modern person, especially the youth."
