Persecution of the Coptic Orthodox

It seems like for the past three years that persecution of the Coptic Orthodox in Egypt has gotten rather intense. I was just speaking to a friend of mine who converted who was in tears because of how bad it was getting.

Could people post articles detailing the recent developments of this persecution? I really don't want to rub in the troubled feelings of those who have had more direct experience than myself, but I feel like it has become important for me to know how bad it is, and at what rate it seems to be degenerating.

However, I have to say that these recent tensions are not as violent as the previous ones this year and the year before that.
The most offensive thing being done, was huge protests in the streets of Alexandria and Cairo insulting HH Pope Shenouda III and hitting his photos with shoes.

Among the insults in these videos: calling HH villainous, traitor, sleazy, and despicable.
