Monastery's church consecrated in Fresno County
« on: September 26, 2010, 05:54:58 PM »
About a thousand people attended the consecration of a Greek Orthodox monastery's church in Dunlap, Fresno County, California. The Monastery of the Theotokos is home to a small community of nuns, as well as a priest, but there were many visitors to the site on the special occasion Saturday, September 25.

(The video clip at the link may be slow to start. Please wait.)  :) Note- Theotokos does not mean Life-Giving Spring, but apparently they went to press with the story before someone could notice the error.  ??? Sorry.
My only weakness is, well, never mind

He said he had a horrible house
I looked in it and learnt to shut my mouth

Come back my dream into my arms, into my arms

London is drowning, and I live by the river

The press has a penchant for screwing things up when it comes to reporting about Orthodoxy.  Zoodochos Pigi "Lifegiving Spring" is a title of the Theotokos associeted with a particular holy well in Constantinople--about as close as we come to Lourdes.
