About a thousand people attended the consecration of a Greek Orthodox monastery's church in Dunlap, Fresno County, California. The Monastery of the Theotokos is home to a small community of nuns, as well as a priest, but there were many visitors to the site on the special occasion Saturday, September 25.

(The video clip at the link may be slow to start. Please wait.)  Smiley Note- Theotokos does not mean Life-Giving Spring, but apparently they went to press with the story before someone could notice the error.  Huh Sorry.

He will come again with glory to judge the living and the dead. His kingdom will have no end.

The press has a penchant for screwing things up when it comes to reporting about Orthodoxy.  Zoodochos Pigi "Lifegiving Spring" is a title of the Theotokos associeted with a particular holy well in Constantinople--about as close as we come to Lourdes.
