I've been feeling overcome with anger, depression, resentment and bitterness lately. It's from a friendship which ended really badly almost three months ago. We've received no apologies for the things that caused us to end the friendship, which has been very painful for me because I received the brunt of the bad behavior. I need to distance myself from them, at least until they recognize their part in this (if they ever do), and for a time anger seemed to help in this. But now it's starting to take me over. I also feel afraid to trust, afraid to reach out more aggressively to reconnect with old friends and make new friends, since I'm afraid I might learn to love a new friend only to get burned again. But I can't just stay in the house all the time.  |
