Back when we discussed John Crowder, I thought I had seen the very worst that Protestantism had to offer. I now am forced to revise said opinion because of the Wine Barrel Family Church. I wouldn't even bet on that! This guy acts like he has some sort of neurological deficiency in addition to a theological deficiency which is obvious. |

That is definitely Tourette's, but I also think that he's found a way to cover up his condition and even plays it up a bit.
He has a bit of a good point, too. Many Christians (myself, included) do not see the glory of God around them and even go out of their way to avoid it because to recognize it would be to recognize the whole truth of Divine Revelation, including their own sinfulness.
I seriously also wonder how many people in the congregation are there to see what he'll do next.

Study the accounts of the Transfiguration, and Motovilov's conversation with St. Seraphim of Sarov to get a glimpse of the conditions under which we actually get to see all things clearly without necessarily having to undergo a lifetime of monastic spiritual labor.

I think I could probably recognize Asperger Syndrome, a.k.a. the Geek Syndrome, if I saw its manifestations, since I've studied it a bit and see much of it in myself. It's not so much something I'd expect to see in on-stage behavior as I would in how a person interacts with others in social situations. Asperger Syndrome and other autism spectrum disorders strike me as being social disorders more than anything else. |

Whatever good points he could be making, I immediately felt that there was some barrier between him and me, just because he was behaving in such a disorderly, silly, inane fashion. But then, a very similar barrier appears when I hear Billy Graham preaching, albeit for a different reason - because I feel anger and lack of compassion in Graham. It does not matter to me WHAT people say when this barrier is out there.
