The British Science Festival is taking place in Birmingham from 14-19 September 2010.

This year's theme is 'Better lives through science'.

Expect to see, hear and discover what is happening in the world and how scientific research impacts on all our lives. From health to climate change to food security and magical chemistry. With over 250 events, there's something for everyone.

Here are some of the events you can expect:

The Science of pulling
The rap guide to evolution
The Jaguar driving experience
From Stein to Steinway: 200 years of the piano
Shazia Mirza- 'Multiple choice'
Tony Robinson- Archaeology through the ages

You can also take part in our mass participation experiment- Neuromantics! We need your brains...

....
The rap guide to evolution:

Written and performed by Canadian actor and rap artist Baba Brinkman, The Rap Guide to evolution presents Darwin's theory in a striking new form: comedy storytelling and hilarious remixes of popular rap songs. Why is bling like a peacock's tail? Can white people be afrocentric? Does anything rhyme with Australopithecus afarensis?

If you will, you can become all flame.
Extra caritatem nulla salus.
In order to become whole, take the "I" out of "holiness".

As a result of a thousand million years of evolution, the universe is becoming conscious of itself, able to understand something of its past history and its possible future.

I cannot stand rap, but to each his own.

A rap about pseudo-science and double-blind tests. Well, it's certainly original. ;D (Warning: offensive lyrics.  :o)
