Yes, it was funny. But our mousethief missed his opportunity for national exposure yesterday when Paul Harvey read out that lead paragraph on his syndicated news...and then gave the wrong URL (theonion.com instead of theoniondome.com) Demetri

The creator of the Onion Dome goes to my church -- he's a good guy.

Actually, the article appeared in the satirical (but often blasphemous) Theonion.com, not in the Orthodox satirical site, Theoniondome.com.
I'd like to think Paul Harvey staff's reviews the Orthodox media, but I doubt it.

Right you are, ambrosemzv. But if it's OK with you, I might do without Paul Harvey's perspective on the Church. His humor is so dry one never knows when he's serious. Demetri

I know this won't make me popular, but I have a lot of misgivings about The Onion Dome.
It seems to me it goes a little too far sometimes.
Poking fun is okay, but when does it cross the line and become mockery?

Were you referring to the Onion Dome in general, or the article at the top of the thread, which Ambrose pointed out was from the (often blasphemous) satire, The Onion(off which The Onion Dome is based). If you're referring to The Onion and it's fake religious articles, then I agree with you. It goes over the line 90% of the time. The Onion Dome, I would argue, is the reverse. It can go over the line occasionally, but is fine 90% of the time.

I was referring to The Onion Dome and not to any article in particular, just my general and sporadic reading of it.
I've never looked at The Onion.

I would advise everyone to stay away from the onion. It's vulgar and blasphemous, a product of our zeitgeist it seems.

Linus, I agree with you entirely about the Onion Dome...
I don't understand why so many people think it is so funny. Every once in a while there is an amusing article, but I am not sure about the entire concept of satirical view of the Church.
