The current discussion about St Thekla came to mind right way when I began to read about the Hieromartyr Cornelius who is commemorated today. All that I can find about his death is that he died in old age, yet he is specifically named "Hieromartyr/Priestmartyr". Is this question indeed similar to the St Thekla one, with likely similar conclusions?

I wondered the same thing when I was reading his account today at the OCA website.  It also said he died in old age.  I wonder why he is called a martyr if he didn't die a martyr's death?
