I really must thank our Holy Orthodox Church for getting me through my parent's divorce, the toughest time in my life (so far). I'm also glad that God has granted me the honor of serving in the altar, thus serving him. all of this really makes me pay not so much attention to my troubles. it's like.....if I had nothing at all except a home, food, and The Church, I'd be ok.  though my parent's divorce REALLY numbed my feelings to the reality of the situation, now my emotions are starting to soften. my mother is who my sister and I live with (except every other weekend, we're in my father's care). my mother is my best friend, and it really hurts to see her cry when my dad's late with a check for my sister's braces or what have you. and sometimes she seems not to have that much money, yet she still affords cell phones for all 3 of us, the internet, cable, etc. please, pray with me that, through the prayers of the Theotokos and St. Tikhon of Moscow, that our financial situation may change for the better, somehow. thanks for your prayers! |

he's pretty well off, I'd say. he doesn't have buckets of money, but he doesn't have to pay for my sister and I (such as clothes, school supplies, etc.). and I mean the things that child support won't pay for, which is alot according to my mother. |

I also know fathers who pay for everything, but the mother doesn't tell the children that (I also knew a mother who spent the money on herself, but told the children their father didn't give her a cent). I will say, barring compelling circumstances, your mother shouldn't be discussing such matters with you at all. |

I think that I'd avoid alot of personal stress by not knowing about my family's problems. but, at least I know so I can pray for it. |

Trevor, if I may offer some unsolicited advice? If you are able, try to cherish the relationship you have with both of your parents. Divorce is hard on everyone, parents and children, and sometimes it's easy for the adults to lose a little perspective. It's nice that you still have two parents in your life.
