You'll learn more about the political ideology of Vladimir Putin and company than you will about the Byzantine empire watching this. It skips around history like crazy.

True. But I like the CG reconstruction of the empire. The demonizing of the West is the problem with the piece though. It could have less of a problem if the video confessed that the worst infection from the West that Russia got was socialism though.
Many energies, three persons, two natures, one God, one Church, one Baptism.

It's not necessarily Putin's ideology, since Putin was ok with socialism.

There are all kinds of Russian rightwing groups. Some of them are monarchist anti-soviet, others racist, others pro-Stalin etc. So a Russian-nationalist video doesn't necessarily reflect Putin's ideas per se.

As with ROCOR, the OCA, and the MP in the US, there are different strains within the Orthodox church over there. You can find Stalin=Saint, Ivan Terrible=Saint, Nicholas II=Saint, women needn't wear veils, women need veils etc movements, to varying degrees of official acceptance and size. One time I saw a brochure called "Monarchy or People-Rule", and the "People Rule" part showed a puppet on strings.
The point is, that some monarchist or anti-western views may reflect official ideas, but others may not.
