The rumours that Fr Michael is too ill and that his various WR projects are failing are apparently unfounded. Fr Michael continues to labour in the foundation of WR missions which will become the basis of convert groups in the UK and Australia. Hopefully there will be younger men able to pick up the burden and continue the work.
"Contrary to recent anonymous email speculation implying that Fr. Michael is
ill, aged and that his work is failing, in fact he is extremely healthy,
active and with a lot of ongoing work. The Orthodox Church has no retiring
age - and there is certainly no requirement or interest in Fr. Michael's
retiring. Apart from being the Superior of the Monastery - which itself is
in the process of doubling its size and opening new outreach initiatives -
he oversees eight monastery missions. In any case - he is only one of a team
of people working on the English Western Rite project.
"His appointment by the Metropolitan as being in charge of English Western
Rite missions is only some six months old and is a very welcome challenge."
