For my wife
« on: July 07, 2010, 05:12:46 PM »
Brothers and sisters in Christ Jesus,

My wife Miranda has been recently experiencing pain in her left side focusing on the spot where some years ago she had a tumor removed from her left ovary.  She had a CT scan last week and finally heard back from her doctor who is pretty sure that it has grown back; she has an MRI scheduled for next Wednesday to confirm.  Thank God that the previous one was benign and all indications point to this one being non-cancerous, as well, but it is still a painful, both physically and emotionally, ordeal to go through.  She has also been talking to me more about God recently, which I take as a good sign.  Those of you who have followed the small parts of her story over the years here on might remember how she is angry at God for all the things she has gone through, from the death after long suffering of her beloved grandfather to her own physical and emotional scars.  While I thank the Good Lord that she still has belief in Him, any and all prayers for her own spiritual healing, as well as physical, are much appreciated.

Lord, have mercy!
Conquer evil men by your gentle kindness, and make zealous men wonder at your goodness. Put the lover of legality to shame by your compassion. With the afflicted be afflicted in mind. Love all men, but keep distant from all men.

May Our Lord grant both of you peace. May He comfort your wife, and may He grant her His grace in the midst of her suffering.

(Maybe you can read a little bit from the book of Job to her each night before sleep.)

"Lord have mercy."

"Bad art may be forgiven; but to remain unmoved by beauty will not. Doubts may be forgiven; but a lack of wonder will not. Tilting at windmills may be forgiven; but allowing our neighbors to be grinded in the gears will not. Denying the existence of the Creator may be forgiven; but ignoring the glories of creation will not."

Lord, have mercy upon Thy handmaiden Miranda and upon Thy servant Schultz!  Grant them peace of mind through this ordeal.

Blessed Mother, pray for your daughter.
