Finding a Church

Hi, friends!

I'm still rather new on these forums and I'm still learning about Orthodoxy. Well, I'm going to be moving to Ft. Knox, KY in at the end of next month. I was wondering if anyone on here knew of any Orthodox Churches nearby that I could attend. It's close to Louisville if anyone is from around there or has visited. I'd really appreciate any help I could get. 

Also, I'm terribly shy so I'm kinda worried about the move. It's a constant struggle for me and has stunted my spiritual growth in the past. Well, thanks guys for any help/advice!

because orthodoxyinamerica.org takes a long time to update their directory (although it looks like it has been recently updated)

In any case, there is a large  Antiochian parish in Louisville--Saint Michael Orthodox Church, which is according to its web site: "...Pan-Orthodox, home to a multitude of cultures from around the globe: Albanian, Bulgarian, Egyptian, Ethiopian, Greek, Indian, Lebanese, Palestinian, Romanian, Russian, Serbian, Syrian, Ukrainian, American, and more.

The heartbeat of any God-centered community is its cycle of worshipful services. Therefore here at St. Michael we worship daily in St. George Chapel." Notice, that this parish has two houses of worship and that it has a daily cycle of worship.

I am an Army Veteran who retired after 20 years in the military and understand the difficulties in locating an Orthodox Parish serving the military community of the many posts and out of country assignments that military face.

I note that you are being assigned to Ft Knox, sadly there is no Orthodox Chaplain assigned to Ft Knox Kentucky, the closest one is located at Ft Campbell, KY, under military  ministry he is probably responsible for Orthodox soldiers assigned to Ft Knox as well. He is:

SCOBA offers a military resource page that has  service resources, Orthodox Bibles for military, and other resources helpful to the military layman that will assist you in your spiritual growth in the absence of  a military chaplain or local parish. Various jurisdictions also have military chaplaincies or ministries;
1) The Orthodox Church in America maintains a listing of military chaplains on its website and an e-mail address of chaplains@oca.org.
2) The Antiochian Orthodox Archdiocese of North America has a chaplain ministry , their contact pastor is:

3) The Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America has a military chaplaincy, their website is located at http://www.denver.goarch.org/military_chaplains/. His Grace Bishop Isaiah of Denver is the Ordinary and Protopresbyter Luke Uhl is the endorser for chaplains.
