My brothers in Christ,
Peace to you...there is still confusion in the mainstream medias [Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahido Church community], because of political and anti-Ethiopian government motivators, that demotivate not only EOTC members, but Eritrean Orthodox and the entire Orthodox community. I believe that although our Orthodox communities do not completely practice inter-communion activities, there is a connection that cannot be broken amongst us as spiritual kinsfolk.
Anyway, the so-called Synod in Exile of the EOTC ultimately divides the people from their mother country Ethiopia, which is the seat of the only, true patriarchate. The excuse that H.H. Aba Pawlos is the divider is a cop-out and a poor excuse to deny Ethiopia! Ethiopian Orthodox Christians are happily filing for asylum in lands of immigration, under the influence of these hierarchs and clergy that have established independent diocese(s). The once faithful and potentially faithful are confused, confounded and have a hard time separating secular politics from church politics, if you will.
During Patriarch Merkerios' enthronement, a dark-period of the Church clouded every facet of the country, under the influence of Communism and Socialism. The patriarch and his fellows sold themselves and the innocent people instead of defending our Orthodox faith-that is simple. In America, this was compounded by Abune Yesehaq’s refusal to accept his former friend’s unanimous election to the patriarchal throne [Aba Pawlos]. At the same time, Aba Melketsidek and Aba Zena Markos [who recently died] were collaborators against the Ethiopian Synod and people. They tried to gain a duality to the Ethiopian patriarchate during the patriarchal transition after Aba Merkerius was unanimously elected-out of the patriarchate for crimes against the Church and people.
Knowing that the common people have no idea concerning Canon Law, they [Aba Melketsidek, Aba Zena Markos and Aba Yesehaq] manipulated politicians, mostly those outside of the US who were opposing the Derg (Communists), with half-truths. This aided the escalation of opposition to Aba Pawlos and sparked a lingering ethnic revolution in the Church and amongst countrymen.
Now, it has become a complex powder-keg, the wish of Satan’s children. It is very difficult to fathom this complexity and how it trickles down to the very soil of Ethiopia! The economic situation doesn’t help the situation, because unfortunate nature of human beings are to scapegoat one another and the religious affiliation one may have.
So, the Patriarch of the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahido Church is His Holiness Aba Pawlos [His Holiness is the Fifth Ethiopian patriarch]. The current archbishops of the EOTC in the Western Hemisphere are: Aba [Abune] Zekarias in New York; Aba Abraham in the District of Columbia; Aba Ewastetewos [Eustathius] in California and Aba Thaddeaus in Trinidad & Tobago [W.I.].
That bishop that was on the site with the link is Aba Melketsidek, an excommunicated and renegade bishop.
Thank you for reading and I hope that this helped. Please pray for all of our peace and unity.
