I know that those at Ancient Faith would be open and interested (I know the founders personally).  IIRC one obstacle was copyright on the materials they were trying to gather, as they looked at Syriac and Coptic CDs I had.

AFR seemed quite open to the OO at first, but I feel like that's changed over time; one can assume why.

Dunno about the Syriacs, but as for the Copts, there's no real concept of "intellectual property" for Church produced material.  They could probably contact Bishop David to get some guidance and/or permission. I can try to help get them in touch with him, if needed.

Coptic Orthodox Patrological Theology (COPT)

What is COPT and what do we aim to do?
COPT stands for Coptic Orthodox Patrological Theology.  In other words, COPT is the study of Coptic Orthodox theology through the lens of the Church Fathers.

Our group aims to have in-depth discussions about various theological and spiritual topics.  We hold frequent meetings, which are open to all English-speaking college/graduate students and post-graduates.  Our meetings are through telephone conferencing, so that participation is not limited by geography.  We email participants in advance of each meeting with detailed meeting information.  Just make sure to RSVP or Register to receive our emails.

Another way to get involved is through our website forums.  When it comes to technical theology, sometimes the ability to write down your thoughts and edit them before sharing goes a long way.

Pastoral Guidance
As of February 9, 2012, Father Peter Farrington, a priest of the British Orthodox Church within the Coptic Orthodox Patriarchate, graciously accepted our request to be involved in COPT and to provide the group with pastoral help and support.

Father Peter became Orthodox in 1994 from an Evangelical Protestant background and has not ceased to contribute to increasing knowledge of Oriental Orthodox theology and spirituality.  He does this in relation to mission work, ecumenical dialogue and education of the Oriental Orthodox faithful.

Father Peter has a variety of local and national responsibilities in Great Britain. He is the pastor of St. Alban and St Athanasius Orthodox Church in Kent, England and is also the National Co-ordinator of the British Orthodox Fellowship, the Secretary of the Council of Oriental Orthodox Churches and the Co-secretary of each of the Anglican-Oriental Orthodox Regional Forum and the Catholic-Oriental Orthodox Forum.

The Editor has initially listed the courses of which he had become aware. This information is far from complete and up to date, but it will become hopefully so, with the help of the colleagues. Places are also mentioned, where courses might be held, in order to solicit a statement from the colleague mentioned. In this case the item is closed by an interrogation mark. When the information is supplied by the responsible people, it is accompanied by the reference to the year when the information was received.

the Database of Medieval Nubian Texts (DBMNT)

This website is the result of four years of research on the subject “Chronological systems of Christian Nubia”, concluded with a monograph under this very title (G. Ochała, Chronological Systems of Christian Nubia [= The Journal of Juristic Papyrology Supplement Series 16], Warsaw 2011). The present database is an integral part of the book and, although the database can, should, and hopefully will exist on its own, the book is at least difficult to use without the database. This is because the written sources analysed in the monograph are essentially referred to, for the sake of convenience, by their catalogue numbers, given to them arbitrarily while preparing an offline version of the DBMNT and preserved in the online one.

It's a (growing) timeline of the Syriac Orthodox heartland Tur Abdin that I have worked on for a while (the site will not work well on small/low resolution screens, so preferably not to be viewed with mobile phones). There are pre/non-Christian stuff on it but there will hopefully be a lot of Syriac Orthodox material on it as well (there already is some). For example, there was a schism in the Church between 1364 and 1839 when Tur Abdin had its own Patriarch apart from the Patriarch of Antioch. It also has a Facebook page that you can get to from the menu on the site.

Please alert me if you visit the website and don't understand early on what you're supposed to do or if you experience any errors. Or if you have any other kind of feedback.
