I have been in a job now for 2 months and the people that I started with are really nice but now there has come about another side to them-a side that I can sense and I see and it scares me. They are very two faced and act nice infront of me but they arent really. They are all over 60 and run the place but when I am there I sense that is jealousy of some kind because I am halve their age.. I really want to keep this job because it allows me to do other work from home 3 days a week-but I just feel this negative energy around me all the time -please also pray for this because I really want to be successful and work from home during my other 3 days and make money to get married this year and get a house. Please pray for me. (Although my asking is selfish-please forgive me)

Anna,

I've been there.  Just keep your nose clean....do good work...listen to THEIR conversations...and don't tell them about yourself.  Just stay quiet...the less they know about you...the less they'll have to be jealous of.

Lord, have mercy!

I was in the same situation.  When I discussed this with a friend of mine, who happens to be an Administrator in a Corporation, she gave me the following wise advice:  'You are getting paid to do a job: simply do that job.  Be friendly, but at the same time reserved.  DON'T GOSSIP and instead be equally cordial to everyone, even the gossips.  Never talk about your own life except in broad terms.  Go to the birthday parties, the Christmas party, etc.  AS TO YOUR INNER LIFE during this time:  pray the Jesus prayer continuously.  When you find yourself being self-conscious or thinking nasty thoughts of the person/people who are nearby, revert your mind back to saying the Jesus prayer.  In time, it will become second nature to you."

I thought to myself that instead of cursing the condition I found myself in (back-stabbing employees), perhaps God was giving me a gift so that I could learn how to bring my Nous into the Prayer of the Heart and my Heart into the Nous.  This is how I began the Path of prayer.....

God bless us so that we can see Your Wisdom instead of our human, myopic vision.

You are right. I apologize for having sacked Constantinople. I really need to stop doing that.
