I guess this is a sort of parallel thread to another thread going on in the Faith Issues section:

http://www.orthodoxchristianity.net/forum/index.php/topic,27148.0.html#top

I am posting this here to ask how common it is in other OO Churches to ordain more than one bishop, priest, or deacon at once.  As I explain in post #24, the practice is not uncommon in the Armenian Church:

http://www.orthodoxchristianity.net/forum/index.php/topic,27148.msg427485.html#msg427485

I'm wondering if it is an acceptable practice in other OO Churches, or if there is a canon or tradition against it, as there seems to be in the EO Church.  Also, if there is a canon against it, can someone identify the canon?

I could be wrong, but I recall seeing a video on youtube of more than one Ethiopian bishop being ordained simultaneously.

I think I found a multiple ordination in the Coptic Church:

Seven new bishops and 37 new priests!  Wow!

These threads relate the ordination of five bishops in the Syriac Orthodox Church:

I know they are not Oriental Orthodox, but it seems the Roman Catholics allow more than one person to be ordained also:

Again, not an Oriental Orthodox Church, but an ancient Church nonetheless, the Assyrian Church of the East seems to have no problem with multiple ordinations:

In trying to figure out if multiple ordinations go back to earlier times, the only possible example I can think of is St. Jacob Barradaeus, who is always said to have been consecrated with someone named Theodore.  Does anyone know for sure if the consecration of both men took place at the same time during the same ceremony?  Are there any online sources that can be linked which may support this?
