sokay.  Mr. Rodgers always gave me the creaps anyhow.  I'm a little more sad about the Cap'n.  I'm wondering if Cap'n Roberto will be having a priates memorial for the man . . .

Sad, hearing him on the radio on the way home brought back memories.  Even before this I could hum the theme song after all these years.

I didn't like Mr. Rogers because when he started to change his shoes and put on that darn sweater, it meant in just a few minutes it was time for my afternoon nap :(   I suspect the real reason was that my Mom wanted to watch her soaps (back then we only had one TV, with a visegrip tuning knob, and a white dot on the screen when you turned it off)

Oh. man! I just now saw this thread and the bad news.

I loved Captain Kangaroo. I watched his show every weekday morning as a little kid.

All the good ol' boys are leaving us.

Hope to see the Cap'n in heaven someday.

May God have mercy on his soul!

I always enjoyed his show . . . dancing bear was my favorite character.
