The first anniversary of the repose of my father, Protopresbyter Stephen, who passed away last year on Bright Friday, will be commemorated in the coming days at our parish. The Paschal cycle was difficult for us as memories of his 66 years of priestly service and his active participation in the services last year, only a few days prior to his death were everywhere present. All of us, family members and parishioners alike, took comfort in the joyous proclamation of Christ's Resurrection and the renewal of life and hope. Please remember him in your prayers this week - Eternal Memory, Vicnaja Jemu Pamjat!

Thank you for your prayers. I just wanted to pass along something that touched me; in front of his home stands an ornamental tree he loved that usually flowers in mid-May. Last year on the day of his repose (April 24th) it was unseasonably warm and his tree bloomed. I noticed this morning as I drove by that it bloomed last night, April 9th. Eternal Memory!

Memory Eternal. I have the DVD's for his funeral Liturgy and Resurrection Matines. They are very beautifully done. St Michael's in Binhampton, NY, is probably one of the most majestic of the Carpatho Russian Churches in this country.
