I have a strong relationship with God.
And so every night while I go to sleep, I meditate using The Jesus Prayer.
But along with it, I listen to greek orthodox chants while I meditate and pray.
Is this an effective method of prayer?

Well I'm not a Priest, but it sounds good to me. I often do the same thing, except with Ethiopian Orthodox Chant.

Someone on another thread said very emphatically that the Jesus Prayer should never be said while falling asleep. I don't know why they said this; and it seems contrary to the whole point of the Jesus Prayer, which is to cultivate a life of prayer without ceasing.

But as you will often be told on this forum (and rightly so), you should consult your spiritual Father about such things.

I've found the Jesus Prayer to also be a very effective means for battling the temptations that like to take hold of me as I'm drifting off to sleep.
