Compared to some of the other requests here, this seems kinda silly, but if you could spare some prayers for me, I would appreciate it.  My doctor called me a while ago and told me I need to have some blood work done while fasting because, when he did some blood work on me when I went to get seen for the flu, while everything else is within normal limits, my blood sugar was a bit high.  Since I've never really had problems with that before, and since I don't think I lead a lifestyle conducive to such problems, I'm hoping it was just a momentary spike while I had my 103 temp.  But I would hate for it to be diabetes or something, it seems to be a rather annoying health problem to have.  Prayers please.

oh of course Prayers, Phil.

Hopefully this will cheer you up - blood sugars can go crazy when fighting infection - so try not to worry too much

Phil,

Prayers.  As one with diabetes it can be a pain but it is not that bad.  It does require modifying the traditonal fasts a bit.

Dear Phil:

As a recently diagnosed Type 2 diabetic, I share your concerns.

This illness is , indeed, THAT annoying to have with all the self-testing kits and the corresponding pills to swallow at least twice daily!

Don't you worry though, Type 2 apparently afflicts only us, the seniors!

Prayers.

I worry about that, too, since diabetes runs in my dad's family.
