Please pray that we get home for Christmas
« on: January 05, 2004, 10:59:57 AM »
Hi guys,
As lots of ya'll know, I've been planning to go home to Jordanville for Christmas, & we were planning to leave tonight...  We reserved a car, but for some reason Alamo did not  take the check card.  We're trying several other car rental places, but for some reason (definately not lack of $) the card's not being excepted.  The only other possibility is finding someone who will loan us a car for 6 days, which is not the easiest thing in the world to do.  Please pray that we make it home before tomorrow night vigil.
Thanks.
Now where were we? Oh yeah - the important thing was I had an onion on my belt, which was the style at the time. They didn’t have white onions because of the war. The only thing you could get was those big yellow ones...

Hey, apparently late Christmas is the way to go.  Look at all the sales!

Prayers that you make it home safely.

I hope it doesn't turn out like 'Planes, Trains and Automobiles', one of my fav. films. I do pray you get home too.

Ah, nothing like celebrating Russian Christmas!

Hope you don't have to do too much rushin'.

We celebrated New Year twice: first at 16:00 for Midnight in Moscow, then at Midnight ET. Had lots of Russian food and vodka.

We keep the Western Christmas, though.
The first condition of salvation is to keep the norm of the true faith and in no way to deviate from the established doctrine of the Fathers.

Thanks for the prayers guys :-)
It looks like crisis is over, Budget said they'll give us a car!!!  Never thought I'd be so happy to drive a Chevy Impala (don't particularly like Chevys).
We do Christmas old calander, since we go to ROCOR.  Also do 2 New Years, Jan 1st & Jan 13th, but the big party is always Jan 1st.  Jan 13th it's just some Russians drinking.
Thanks again!
