Online encyclopedia of orthodox saints?
« on: January 18, 2010, 01:01:20 AM »
I know that there are real book encyclopedias of saints, but I can't find any at the local library or bookstore. Does anyone know of any online info sites about the different saints? It's really interesting to learn about them. Forgive me if this is in the wrong section; I couldn't see a specific forum about it.

Some good options are:

OCA Lives of the Saints: http://www.oca.org/FSlives.asp
Prologue from Ohrid: http://www.westsrbdio.org/prolog/pr_intro.htm
AbbaMoses.com: http://www.abbamoses.com/

Welcome!

Hello forevervegan:

There is one other website which has manyh references for western Orthodox saints (before the Great Schism) plus items of general interest, which is run (I believe) by the OCA.  It is called :

St Pachomius Library,at http://www.voskrese.info/spl/index.html

The various citations come from several sources and many are prefaced by a warning about the quality or reliability of the source.  It's worth a look.
