St. Vincent Student Recalls Quake Terror

St. Vincent College freshman, who was traveling on a church mission trip in Port-au-Prince, Haiti last week when a massive earthquake razed the city, returned to school safely yesterday, shaken and moved by what she had seen.

During a news conference at the Latrobe campus, Kerry Tittinger, 19, of Huntingtown, Md., described the two long nights she spent in Haiti before her swift evacuation Thursday.

She remembered the moment the earthquake roared through Port-au-Prince like rolling thunder. She remembered huddling with the children she was caring for at the Missionaries of Charity orphanage, repeating like a prayer: "It's OK. It's OK." She remembered the streets filled with stunned people, walking aimlessly...
