My greetings to everybody,
Obviously, I am a new member and thought that a formal introduction would be in good order. To make a long story short, I was born in Poland, baptized Roman Catholic, now spending my time traveling (work) between Belgrade and Sofia :-). Having 'fallen away' from Catholicism (in my family it was more of a cultural indicator than anything), and indeed of Christianity altogether, I have found the Truth of Orthodoxy revealing itself to me step by step. So, in short, I am here in the hope of learning more.
Thanks everyone,
- trifon

I've spent some time in Silesia on business; just about the most Roman Catholic place I have ever been with wonderful, friendly people and great food! My wife always says that the people in my mother's village down in Greece "walk Orthodox". That's just what I saw in Poland, people "walking Roman Catholic". I remember thinking to myself that these people would make marvelous "Orthodoxers"!

There are many Orthodox in Silesia also Well, not that many, but there are some due to the Operation Vistula. And before the WWII there used to be the Polish National Orthodox Church (a kind of Western rite vicariate) in Silesia.

Thanks to everyone for the welcome. I look forward to taking part in the discussions / Witam Wszystkich. Dziekuje za zaproszenie i z przyjemnoscia dolacze sie do dyskusji Euphrosinos: My mother is from Katowice, and it certainly has its charm, to some, myself included. Is your mother's village either in the Peloponnisos or Karpathos? I've certainly seen 'walking Orthodox' there!

Trifon, your mother is from a very friendly place with the best mushrooms and deer meat I've ever had in Europe! I wish I had an excuse to visit it again. And indeed my mother's village is in Arkadia, in the Peloponnesus.
