100,000n American who immigrated to Russia
« on: January 11, 2010, 06:35:06 PM »
I have heard that, in the Great Depression, 100,000 Americans immigrated to the USSR?  What ever happened to them?
Men may dislike truth, men may find truth offensive and inconvenient, men may persecute the truth, subvert it, try by law to suppress it. But to maintain that men have the final power over truth is blasphemy, and the last delusion. Truth lives forever, men do not.

Most came back.  I do recall in the 80's some black Russian news comentator whose grandparents had come.  There was some guy here in Chicago whose parents immigrated, and he spent a lot of time trying to get back.
Question a friend, perhaps he did not do it; but if he did anything so that he may do it no more.
A hasty quarrel kindles fire,
and urgent strife sheds blood.
If you blow on a spark, it will glow;
if you spit on it, it will be put out;
                           and both come out of your mouth
