Western Rite in Seattle
« on: April 16, 2011, 03:21:58 PM »
I went to a funeral a few years ago for an Archimandrite Gabriel (Cooke).  At some point, he was the rector of a Western Rite mission in Seattle.  Does anyone know what ever happened to it, and if there is still a lingering nascent interest?

I know it was Saint Michael Western Rite Antiochian Orthodox Mission, but I'm not sure what happened to the parish...

Perhaps it is the western rite parish mentioned here:

Quote from: Fr. Thomas Hopko, dystopian parable of the prodigal son
...you can imagine so-called healing services of the pigpen. The books that could be written, you know: Life in the Pigpen. How to Cope in the Pigpen. Being Happy in the Pigpen. Surviving in the Pigpen. And then there could be counselling, for people who feel unhappy in the pigpen, to try to get them to come to terms with the pigpen, and to accept the pigpen.
